Self-care and self-love are definite “buzz words” these days, but what meaning do they have for you? Is this a “pie in the sky” concept or have you been able to dial in what that looks like for you?
I have definitely been evolving in my understanding of what self-care and self-love means. And it really means that in all things, I listen to the soft whispers of my heart rather than clobbering those sentiments with my mind or making myself wrong. It means I breathe deeply more often. It means I’m kinder to myself when I fall back into old patterns that don’t always serve my highest good.
It means I am willing to love myself – no matter what.
Some questions I have been asking myself to help me stay in clarity and connection to Self are:
- Does [this choice] nourish or deplete me?
- Does [this action] bring me more into connection to myself?
- Do I know [this belief/point of view] is true? Is it absolutely true, beyond a shadow of a doubt?
- Does [this decision] bring a little contraction or a little relaxation to my system?
In the harried pace of most of our lives, sometimes it can feel difficult to stay anchored into what would really serve us. I have found using the questions above help me to slow down, breathe, and truly connect into what I deeply desire. Which often isn’t what I would have expected!
As always, I would love to keep the dialogue flowing about our triumphs, our struggles, and our inspirations. Join me in our FaceBook group to be part of the conversation!
With light and love,
